Around 15 minutes drive from the main Manali town on Naggar - Manali road is Mr. & Mrs. Dutt's  beautiful home, located on the foothill of a hill full of cedar trees which provide for a different locale with every changing season. The decor of the house reflects warmth and comfort. Though symmetric in design, each room has its own color theme.The four rooms are double bedded with attached bathrooms and balconies, each one with a different view of the scenic beauty around.

One of the most interesting spots in the house is the front lawn which has a small camping tent for the adventurous sorts who don’t mind camping out for a night.A recent addition to all this a Children playing area with a small little pond having ducks and gooses. Also there are rabbits and Honey bee house!!! 

Sanjay is a journalist with a leading daily while Sunita is a housewife and an amazing cook. You get to taste Sunita's  Rajma-Chawal or the Mutton & Chicken dishes while you stay here. Enjoy the warm hospitality of the your hosts.

How to Reach

Air : The adjoining airport is Bhuntar Airport just about 50 km from Manali, 10 km from Kullu, takes about two hours to travel. Indian Airlines operaties flights from Delhi and Chandigarh to Kullu.

Rail : The nearby Broad Gauge Rail Head is Ambala Cantt (200 km) or Chandigarh (250 km) from Delhi.

Road : A distance of about 550 km from Delhi, buses connect Manali to Delhi, Shimla, Dharamsala and Leh. It takes around 18 hours to travel to Manali from Delhi. From Ambala, the distance to Manali is about 10 hours; and from Kullu to Manali it takes just about 3 hours.

About Location

Manali at an altitude of 2,050 m (6,726 ft) in the Beas River Valley is a beautiful hill station nestled in the mountains of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh near the northern end of the Kullu Valley. It is located about 270 km (168 mi) north of the state capital, Shimla. Manali is only 40 kms. away from Kullu to the north. Manali is surrounded by the towering peaks at an arm length and is located near the snowline. Manali and the surrounding area is of great significance to Indian culture and heritage as it is said to be the home of the Saptarishi, or Seven Sages.

The climate in Manali is predominantly cold during winters, and moderately cool during summers. The temperatures range from 4 °C (39 °F) to 30 °C (86 °F) over the year. The average temperature during summer is between 14 °C (57 °F) and 20 °C (68 °F), and between −7 °C (19 °F) and 10 °C (50 °F) in the winter.

Manali is also known as the Switzerland of India. Today, Manali is a flourishing orchard industry, trekking destination and a famous tourist destination for the honeymoon lovers. It is an excellent place for a holiday, a favorite resort for trekkers to Lahaul, Spiti, Kinnaur, Leh and Zanskar regions in Kashmir valley. The landscape here is breath taking. One sees well-defined snow capped peaks, high mountains which are surrounded by silent snows and deep boulder strew gorges, the Beas river with its clear water meanders through the town. On the other side are deodar and pine trees, thick forests, tiny fields of wild flowers, small picturesque hamlets and fruit orchards. Manali is also a sacred pilgrimage place for the Hindus. December to February are the best season for snow-skiing and heli-skiing in Manali. The climate of Manali is very cold. The summers are cool and the winters are also very cool. Due to its altitude the climate of Manali is loved by one and all. The best time to visit Manali is in the month of May and October.

Shopping in Manali

For the shopping purpose, the Mall is a perfect place in Manali. In the Mall you can purchase various items like clothes, decorative pieces, gift items and woolen goods particularly the shawls. The New Shopping Centre Market near the bus stand also sells a good selection of items. Around the bazaar there are innumerable stalls stacked with hand-woven goods. The other specialty of Manali is the Himalayan handicrafts, mainly assorted Tibetan curios such as prayer wheels, amulets, dorjees or thunderbolts, masks, musical instruments, jewellery and Thangkas.
